When
our teeth are healthy, it makes our smile even brighter! Teeth
are very important. Without teeth you wouldn't be able to eat,
you would have a hard time talking, and you wouldn't be able
to smile!
Our teeth are actually bigger than what we can see. We see the
crown of the tooth, the part that sticks up above our gums.
Our gums hold our teeth in place. Below our gums is the root
of the tooth. Through the root, the tooth gets nutrients that
help keep it strong.
When you visit your dentist, he or she will check on your teeth
to make sure that you're taking care of them properly because
they are so important! The dentist will check on how your teeth
are growing and use special tools to give your teeth a power
cleaning.
It's important to visit your dentist for a check-up twice a
year. Your dentist will make sure that your smile will always
be bright and shiny. When you visit the dentist, he or she will
use a special paste called fluoride, which will make your teeth
stronger and healthier.
Your dentist is an expert on teeth, so you can ask questions
about your teeth, how they're growing and also to make sure
that you're cleaning them properly.
