Healthy
Smiles Hawaii is a dental health education program coordinated
and maintained by Dental Health Hawaii, a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization. The purpose of the Healthy Smiles Hawaii program
is to raise awareness of the importance of dental and oral health
among Hawaii’s children, parents and teachers. The colorful,
kid-friendly Web site features dental and oral health information,
nutritional facts, games and activities, and downloadable handouts,
the Healthy Smiles Hawaii Activity Book and Teacher Handbook,
and information on the annual SmileFest community education
event held each February.
All of these activities provide Hawaii’s families and
teachers with reliable and practical information and encourages
good oral and dental health practices to prevent dental health
problems, like tooth decay.
